Transformative Yoga Retreat in Turkey

FROM £845
(£795 with early bird discount)

11 - 18 JULY 2020

A wonderful opportunity to enjoy some sun, sea, yoga and relaxation in a charming traditional farm and yoga retreat, set on Turkey's Mediterranean 'Turquoise' coast.  With terraced vegetable fields, orchards, stunning views out to sea from the yoga shala, sunset views over dinner, mountain views and just a five minute walk through the forest to a lovely swimming cove this really is an idylic location and the perfect place to deepen your yoga and meditiation practice.

The Venue

Your home for the week is the delightful Suleyman's Gardens, situated on Turkey's gorgeous 'Turquoise Coast' with stunning views from the dinning terrace and yoga shala. It is a simple, traditional venue in a fantastic location and you will feel immersed in nature. There is a small pool for cooling off and you are a 5 minute stroll to a beautiul stretch of coastland and a lovely cove where you can swim in the clear blue ocean and laze in a shady spot.

If you want to venture out you are just 15 minutes by bus to sandy beaches, 20 minutes from Olu Deniz arguably one of Turkey's finest beaches and 45 minutes to Fethiye an elegant costal town with bustling markets, night bazzars and restaurants.

The Yoga

The long morning practice will be a dynamic, creative, playful and explorative ‘deep slow flow’ asana practice and will include meditation and pranayama.  By emphasizing the breath, mindfulness & skillful action and building up through a range of appropriate options – students, from the less experienced to the more advanced, will discover how to work peacefully at the level appropriate to them.

The afternoon session will be a mellower, soothing and nurturing practice, delving into areas such as yin yoga, restoratives, pranayama, chakras, yoga nidra and meditation.  This will totally bliss you out!
We finish in time to watch the sun go down and maybe even indulge a sunset swim.

Jeff has lots of experience teaching students of all levels. His depth of understanding, playful approach, ability to challenge students to safely explore their edge and his love of pranayama and meditation will give you the perfect opportunity to deepen your practice both physically and internally.

Things To Do

In between yoga sessions you have time to relax by the pool, wander down to sea for a swim, laze in the shade, enjoy a massage, take a walk along the stunning costal paths or venture a little further to nearby sandy beaches.  There will be opportunites for optional individual or group excurstions to local  historical sites, local towns and a boat trip.  We usually also enjoy at least one dinner out as a group. If you are looking for peace and quite and want time to yourself there are plenty of quiet shady spots or if you are feeling sociable a yoga holiday is a great way to make new friends.

Accommodation

Accommodation is in simple, comfortable cabins with verandahs, shaded by vines and flowers, each with a double bed, so suitable as single or couples accommodation. The cabins have shared bathroom facilities with ample toilets, showers and hot water.

There are also a number of twin-bed rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and two en- suite double bedrooms.

If you are coming on your own we can pair you with someone of the same sex or you can stay in your own cabin and have some space to yourself. Not much time is spent in the rooms as there is so much lovely shady outside space where you can find a spot to relax in your own space if you wish.

Food

You will be served delicious, healthy vegetarian meals, much of which is organic and  grown by Suleyman in his own garden.

They can cater for food allergies or intolerances, although please note gluten free flours and bread are not yet available locally in Turkey, nor are the usual substitutes for dairy ie tofu and other soya 'dairy' products. Soya milk is available on request but not as standard.

We suggest bringing gluten free bread or snacks, or any other specialities with you if you think you'll need them.
